What a cookie is, briefly

A cookie is a small text file a site asks your browser to keep, so it can remember something between page loads. Closely related are localStorage and sessionStorage, which store values in your browser without sending them to a server. This page covers both, because what matters to you is "something is being remembered," not the technical mechanism.

Consent comes before anything non-essential

When you first arrive, a banner asks how you want to be treated. Nothing advertising- or analytics-related happens before you answer:

Essential only — the site works normally. No analytics or advertising script is loaded, and no such cookie is set.
Accept all — Google Analytics and, once approved, Google AdSense are loaded and may set the cookies described below.

This is enforced by not loading either third-party script at all until you accept, rather than by loading it and asking it to behave.

What this site stores

Strictly necessary — set without consent

tabvault:cookie-consent (localStorage) — remembers the choice you made in the banner, so it does not ask on every page. Stored only in your browser until you clear site data; never transmitted anywhere.

Analytics — only after you accept

Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*) counts page views and distinguishes one visit from another, in aggregate. It is not used to identify you. Choosing "Essential only" means this script is never loaded, so these cookies are never created.

Advertising — only after you accept, and only once ads are live

Google AdSense serves ads, measures their performance, limits how often you see the same ad, and detects fraudulent clicks. Google and its partners may also use their own cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this or other sites. See Google's advertising policies for details.

Changing your mind

Your choice is stored only in your own browser. Open your browser's settings for site data or privacy, find this site in the list, and clear its data — the banner will appear again on your next visit so you can answer differently. Nothing else about the site changes. You can also block third-party cookies globally in every major browser; the site remains fully functional if you do.

Cookies on other CraftlyKit sites

This is TabVault's own site, separate from craftlykit.com, the main CraftlyKit studio site — each has its own storage, and this policy covers only this site. The TabVault extension itself is a separate matter again: it stores your saved tabs, categories, scroll positions, and video timestamps in your own browser and sends none of it anywhere. That is a design decision, not a cookie setting, and it does not depend on anything you choose in this banner.
